This is so true:

If the people promoting an idea say nasty things about people who differ with them, and if they have to take their swipes anonymously, they must not have a lot to say that’s substantial, and they clearly aren’t willing to stand behind their own thinking.

This comment is similar to the point Scott Adams has been making on his blog (dilbertblog.typepad.com) in relation to Intelligent Design vs. Evolution. Basically, that both sides of the debate do a lot to undermine their own credibility, partly by spending so much time misrepresenting the other side. The same thing could be said about Linux vs. Microsoft, Apple vs. PC, and probably any Religion A vs. Religion B.
