iPhone Tour
I’m watching the 20 minute guided tour of iPhone that Apple posted today. While Amanda might be cheating the word “amazing” it’s an excellent word to describe the phone this video shows off. Coupling a large multitouch screen with Apple’s legendary design skills clearly makes for a much better phone than anything I’ve used. Of course, touch is believing in this case and that’s still a week away. Still, I can’t see how businesses will be able to keep them out of the hands of employees.
If you don’t want one of these phones after watching the video, I don’t get it. I think this phone is going to change the whole idea of what a phone is.

Very impressive - albeit it'd have been nice if they'd put a GPS in the handset also. Having to type your start location to route to the Sushi restaurant was the only thing I didn't find compelling.
The rest - awesome.

It's not a matter of wanting or not wanting the phone. It's a matter of not being willing to pay $600 for one. I personally will not consider any smart phone that's over $200 since I'd be likely to replace it within 3-4 years AND I'd be paying $25/mo for a data plan with it. The economics just don't work out for most of us.
Then there's AT&T's insistence that you pay an early termination fee in you cancel within two years, yet they don't give you a discount on the phone to justify it. Bleck.

I guess I'd say that not being willing to pay for one is the same as not wanting one. (Not being ABLE to pay for something, of course, is entirely different.)
I agree that if you believe "this is just a little bit better treo" then I'd agree that $600 is a lot of dough. I think it's something more than a smart phone because of the full browser.
