Florida Man Charged with Wi-Fi Theft
A St. Petersburg Florida man has been charged with unauthorized access to a computer network, a third-degree felony after he was caught using the Wi-Fi connection outside a 28-year old veterinarian’s home.

Interesting. Do you know if there was any suggestion that the victim might bear some of the responsibility because he didn't secure his own network?

I agree that the network consumer should take steps to secure his wi-fi. If you leave your front door open, it shouldn't be surprising to find someone stealing your stuff. Not that the police won't bust the thief.
On a related subject, I would like to hear some discussion on what to do when the wireless signal is broadcasted into your home. I have that problem. I don't have to camp out, all I have to do is turn on my laptop in my living room. I have no idea which home is broadcasting into my house. What are the ethics involved in this situation?
