Using Quicksilver
If you use OS X, you should also use Quicksilver. Here’s a good tutorial on getting started with Quicksilver and here’s one that’s a little more advanced.

I've been using Quicksilver all day every day since switching from Launchbar which is also great. Either of these tools will make your OSX experience much more fun and efficient if you are a keyboard driven person like myself. Quicksilver definitely gets my vote though as it's:
a) free
b) open source
c) pretty
d) extensible
